We Don't Mean to Frighten You...err...Yes We Do!

BeeJee Bouchere's "pumkin djoezz theatre" at Schooner Run in Sailor's Cove Estates. You will LOVE watching some really bad horror movies. hehehe In fact, I was begged to please skip that sim during restarts because one guest was having so much fun and was glued to his seat!

Seriously have you seen the seats? *wicked grin*

Unfortunately there are only two days left to catch a show. Each day a different movie is played. Today's is "The Sadist" and tomorrow's is "Dead People".

The Sadist (1963). This is believed to be the first feature film based on real life serial killers Charles Starkweather and Caril Fugate. Mainstream Hollywood would not produce films inspired by the pair until a decade after this one. A number of films were inspired by the duo (some very loosely) and included such major examples as Terrence Malick's Badlands (1973) and Oliver Stone's Natural Born Killers (1994).

I'd give you a blurb on "Dead People" if I had the info. LOL You'll just have to ask BeeJee or fly your brooms on over to see for yourself! *muwhahahaha*

You can't miss the big orange and black tent at Schooner Run. So c'mon over ghouls and boys, before this special presentation rests in peace for another year!

This mysterious island magically rose from the waters at Schooner Run and has rightly deserved it's moniker "Haunted Isle". Rumor has it that many who ventured into Nevermore Manor were never to be seen again!

Hmmm. Is it because visitors had such a jolly fright and were simply dying to stay? Or are there darker forces at work here? Are you brave enough to explore the deep dark corners and ghostly recesses? If you are, you better hurry because we have a sinking feeling (pun intended!) that this will be vanishing again soon!

And to celebrate those that have trekked the haunted halls and made it out alive...or at least have enough body parts intact enough to dance, we're throwing a Halloween Monster Mash Bash on the grounds, October 31st from 6-10PM, SLT!

Turn into your favorite ghost or goblin and party til you drop...dead...with DJ Tlinitchief Claymore. Prizes will be given for the best costumes!

FIYC is Invaded and You're Invited!

The 1938 original broadcast of "The War of the Worlds" is re-airing at Fishers Island Yacht Club today at 3PM, SLT. Hosted, once again, by Drwyndwn Tyne.

A true classic! The human mind is a wonderful thing. Imagine the only means of warning of imminent attack by an unknown force *OUT THERE* back in 1938 was radio. NO visuals, only words. Words seeping into your mind and conjuring up all manner of pictures, and with it, unspeakable fears.

Come huddle with us around the Clubhouse radio and get ready for a real treat!

When this originally aired, it caused a public panic that was so real, listeners actually ran from their homes for safety, and law was changed regarding radio plays.

Sailor's Cove is a Real "Treet"! See for Yourself!

Here's the 30 minute Treet.tv show featuring Heath Elvehjem at Sailor's Cove Theater this past Tuesday. The machinima was very well done. Sailor's Cove is a gorgeous community, is it not? And, of course, Heath's performance was spectacular! http://archive.treet.tv/live-n-kickin-heath-elvehjem

The show had a great turnout and was a lot of fun! I'm always reminded why I love living here and thoroughly enjoy being part of the Sailor's Cove Estate community! So let me invite you to join our groups, if you're not a member already. You don't have to live here to join our family! (But living in Sailor's Cove is truly the icing on the cake! And if you're looking for a home in SL, you owe it to yourself to check out some of our available parcels, for sale or lease, before someone else snatches up your personal piece of paradise!)

There are two groups to choose from, for your convenience. First and foremost is the Fishers Island Yacht Club group in-world. FIYC is the nucleus of the 42 Sim estate. Stay up-to-date on all things involving Sailor's Cove and the yacht club itself: from the theater happenings, to boat races, sailing classes, and other community events. Search groups in-world for Fishers Island Yacht Club and join for free! Or use this direct linky: http://world.secondlife.com/group/3548ac5b-c221-b924-aade-7b1a2601c012

Or join the Sailor's Cove Theater and Park subscription-type group which is handy if you don't have an open group slot. There are two kiosks on either side of the theater, which spans across two Sims. Just slap a board to join, read past notices, or unsubscribe. SLurls for each board are: http://slurl.com/secondlife/Fishers%20Island/13/132/22 or
http://slurl.com/secondlife/Sailors%20Cove/241/148/22 This group only announces theater-specific news and announcements.

Ok ok, I just can't help but to gush over the Live n' Kickin show. Now the whole world can see what we SCers have loved all along!

Thank you for supporting the theater, yacht club, and Sailor's Cove as a whole. *sweet sigh and beams with pride*

A very proud resident,
Dolci

Live n' Kickin TV Show at Sailor's Cove Theater Tonight!

How exciting is this?? This week's featured guest on Treet.tv's popular metaverse show Live n' Kickin is phenomenal musician and composer, Heath Elvehjem! And they're filming right here at our beloved Sailor's Cove Theater and Park from 9-930PM SLT, September 29, 2009! Oh my goodness, that's tonight! (I better get a nap in so I can attend bright eyed and bushy tailed!! haha)

Heath Elvehjem (AKA Heath Vercher IRL) is a natural choice whose musical home has been Sailor's Cove Theater for three years. His music mixes acoustic piano with electronic orchestra for a scentillating vibe that is inspiring and invigorating.

Here is a wonderful sampling of some of his work: http://www.myspace.com/heathvercher. “Without a doubt, the most important aspect of my music is its ability to reach other people and bring them together,” Heath says.

Treet TV, and Treet Archives are brought to you by the people that created SLCN, the world's first virtual television network. Live n' Kickin is filmed by Treet.tv and Perfect World Productions and will air live on the web at http://archive.treet.tv/ then later be uploaded for viewing again.

With the launch of "Tonight Live with Paisley Beebe", SLCN was on its way to setting a new standard for virtual broadcast television with regular lifestyle programming.
Since then a number of regularly scheduled shows have filled the weekly lineups, including several sports shows and of course, Live n Kickin. Treet archives are also available as video podcasts. See the Podcast page to subscribe with iTunes or other RSS manager software.

Please join us for this special performance and filming. With the heavy activity expected, please be courteous and conservative with AO's, scripted attachments, prims, and flexi's; and be patient when rezzing in. But what a wonderful treat for Sailor's Cove and our very own Heath Elvehjem. Most definitely worth it!!

Explenation of the Garden idea.

The gardens are separated into seasons. On arrival you enter into Summer. In amongst the expanse of lawn are beautiful flowers, a pond with fountain, and many areas to sit or explore. Walk through the gate into Autumn/Fall and experience the rich copper tones so familiar at that time of the year. Through another gate you enter into Winter with a light covering of snow, gentle snowfall and frosty leaves. Finally we pass into Spring - for renewal. Such beautiful shades and an open vista to explore.

In the main entrace area, adjacent to Summer there are 3 boards where you can place a photograph of your loved one. However, you will also find a large board on which to place a photograph of your loved one in each of the other gardens if you feel an affinity with that particular season over another. Touch the board for an explanation on how to do that. If you would like you can also light a candle. After exploring, take the time to sit a while and enjoy the peace and to remember those you have lost or those who have won their battle.

Partnership celebration

On 31st of May, Pippa and I held our partnering celebration in the gardens of the Fisher Island Yacht Club in Clipper Bay. It was a wonderful day and for us a very important event.  I think there is no doubt we viewed this with the same importance as any real life event we could have shared together with friends.  We had the usual elaborate preparations with clothing and arranging the party, and when we arrived we were very excited and a little nervous.

We wanted very much to capture the moment when I proposed to Pippa, which was during a performance by Joaquin Gustav, the well known latin guitarist.  Luckily for us he was available for our party and being able to celebrate and dance to his music was very special to us. We also had a gift from DJ Q of 1 ½ hours of his show so we are very grateful to him for that.

Before we started the party I felt I wanted to say something and so I had a very short speech, as follows:

----------------------------

Dear friends, I would like to welcome you all to our partnership  celebration party. This is a very special moment for Pippa and me, and we would like to share that with our dearest friends.

When Pippa strolled into our world here at Sailors Cove, we were all thrilled. She is an amazing person with lots of creativity and ideas. Just have a look later at the Garden across the club and see what Drew and Pippa are building for the community.

To make the story short, I thought I was going to be a confirmed bachelor in SL, but Pippa has changed all of that with her sweetness and lovely charm.

We were at a performance of Joaquin Gustav's when I proposed to Pippa. I was thrilled that she accepted. After that Pippa and me exchanged rings to show the world our love for each other.

For the party today we have organised three hours of entertainment starting with Joaquin to remind us of our special evening, and who also happens to be the top latin performer here on SL.  After Joaquin we are pleased to have Seba Sideways who also featured on our special evening and who plays fantatic saxophone music.  Finallly we have DJ Q and he takes requests so feel free to ask for your favourite music. We hope you will stay with us throughout and enjoy the party with us.

We would like to thank Fanci and Patrick for allowing us to have our party at  the clubhouse here in the SIMS of Sailor Cove. Fanci and Patrick mean a lot to Pippa and me and we are very pleased to have taken up residence  together in our beautiful house in  Anchor Cove.

We also want to thank our good friend Kath for the wonderfull invitation cards she made for us.  Finally,  we would like to thank everyone  who has been so gracious and kind to us in giving us their best wishes for our future together.

Now I will ask my lovely Pippa to have the first dance with me. Pippa darling please follow me to the dance floor. We hope that all of you will join with us after the first dance.

---------------------------------

Pippa and I danced the first dance to the lovely music of ‘Moondance’ which we adore and seems to be our tune now.  Then we were joined by our guests.  The party lasted for over 3 hours and often you see people leave once the party develops but this time more and more arrived during the evening. It was heart-warming to observe how many of our friends were there. In addition, many friends who could not make it send us there congratulations and warm words. I would like to thank everybody for the lovely gifts the gave us. Juli Gothly’s wonderful custom Elise comes to mind among many others.

We would like to take the opportunity for thanking all of our friends for the wonderful support they showed. When I escorted Pippa home after the party she whispered in my ear; ‘everybody should experience this love’. That is what we wish all of our friends.

Kind Regards,

Pippa Rexen and Epicurus Emmons

USS/Sailors Cove and Nautilus

We'll its been a few weeks now since we joined Nautilus. So far, so good. We have not been hit with a rash of griefer attacks or huge mega yachts invading the serenity of our home. What Fanci and I have noticed is an increase in cruisers exploring our area.

The one thing that seems to hit me whenever I explore the Nautilus area is how lucky we are. Sailors Cove is truly the best kept secret in SL. We have a great community of owners, merchants, renters and users that frequent our waters and air space. Lately, even underwater adventurers seem to come and enjoy. There truly is much to do in SC and abroad now.

We have much in the works now and the future looks bright and fun.

Happy Sailing!
